  • Deadly Vibe

    It is an organization that give resources and provide services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities around Australia. They can support all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be able to reach their potential, by providing them with positive role models and quality information to help improve community.

    Strength:

    -          Being able to provide the knowledge for First Nations people to help them with their schooling

    -          Also providing classroom activities for you to do in the classroom

    -          Providing classroom activities for all ages

    Weaknesses:

    -          There is really no lesson plan for using music within the classroom, but that can change due to cultural appropriation if they were to use that in classes.

    -          Which teachers must be weary of when it comes to First Nations people

    -          The font size of the website can be particularly small so it can be hard to read for some.

  • Classics For Kids

    The website provides an overview of how teachers can intertwine classical music within their music classes, looking at famous artists but provides the information in a multimodal way as predominantly the information is a voice memo.

    Strengths:

    -          Having multiple lesson plans for different classical composers, and being able to look through them

    -          Providing the information in a different way, which can make it better for teachers to look through the lesson plans by doing a voice memo

    Weaknesses:

    -          The curriculum link for this website can be a bit difficult and the challenges the teachers may face trying to connect it with the curriculum

    Since it’s based off US teaching standards. The standard of teaching may be different to ours, but also the lack of cultural diversity in the music for this website.

  • Library Of Congress

    The reading room is an access point for teachers to view the vast and diverse collections of music, ranging from over 25 million items of music to over 1000-year history. They include classified music and book collections etc.

    Strengths:

    -          The accessibility of the website is very easy to use and understand, which can be better for teachers.

    -          Teacher resources are plenty to go by, they are also broken into sub-sections of what teachers may be looking for.

    Weaknesses:

    -          Lack of resources with the diverse cultural aspect, as it doesn’t really explore that, which can make it difficult for teachers.

    -          The link for the Victorian curriculum is very weak, and it is hard to try to create a lesson plan through it, which may make it difficult for the teacher.

  • The Kennedy Center

    Presents classical and contemporary music such as opera, drama and dance but also other performing arts from not only the United State but also from around the world. It is also a reflection of diversity within the US; they also present world-class art by artists that have shaped society’s culture today and continue to drive arts education opportunities.

    Strengths:

    -          For music it has a wide range of resources that you can apply in the classroom

    -          Also provides professional development learnings for them to expand their knowledge of music

    Weaknesses:

    -          Since it being classical music, it is hard to explore the diverse cohorts within classical music

    -          Being an American source, it can be hard to adjust it to the Victorian Curriculum
